Hey, it’s Patrick from The Concrete Shamans. A lot of people ask how we got into making bate music and gooner music, so here’s the honest story in my own words.

We used to make experimental synthpop stuff with sci-fi and spiritual themes. Then last year we decided, “Fuck it, let’s make a sex song.” The first one was “TOUCH” — we paired it with this wild, freaky AI video. It felt amazing to finally make music about something so natural. That opened the floodgates.
We had already written a whole book about our personal masculine awakening, but instead of publishing it we turned that energy into music. We wanted a concept album that told the story of masculine restoration in a way that actually hit in the body. And our collection of songs about sex and the masculine experience MASC was released in January of 2026.
A recent Wired article (The Gooner Music Video Boom Is Here) about music videos designed to bate and goon to had a link to a video that featured one of our songs. It was produced by creator BRO STINKS and it is called MUSKY BRO SUMMER. We had predicted that bate and gooner music was going to go wide this summer and with the Wired article, this genre and style of music is poised to be more popular.
What the Hell Are Bating and Gooning? (For the New Guys)
Quick definitions if you’re new to all this:
- Bating = Mindful masturbation. Taking your time, staying present with your cock, building that charge instead of rushing to cum.
- Gooning = Taking it further — long sessions of edging (getting close but not finishing) that can put you in a blissful, tranced-out “goon state” where everything feels intense and your mind goes fuzzy in the best way.
Bate and gooner music is the soundtrack built for exactly that — heavy beats, hypnotic rhythms, and lyrics that keep you locked in the feeling.
How We Stumbled Into It

When we started, we had no clue what bate music even was. While working on the track “B8” for our MASC album, I reactivated some old bator accounts I hadn’t touched since getting married. After MASC dropped, guys started telling us, “Dude, you made a bate song.”
I started talking to some bators, and they showed me around Discord servers with “Bate Tunes” channels. On a whim I posted our track. The response blew us away. The gooners and bators loved it. They didn’t care that we used AI for parts of the production and videos — they connected with the raw masculine energy and the high production quality. It quickly became one of our most popular tracks.
We originally planned just a remix collection around “B8”, but making the music felt too good to stop. So we went all in and created BATE FUEL — a full concept album centered on bating itself, plus the deeper stuff: brotherhood, real connections between men, owning your masculinity, and dropping shame.
We don’t push labels like “gay” or “LGBTQ” in our work. Plenty of men who bate and goon don’t identify with those terms, and we’re speaking to all of them. Songs like “BATE WITH ME” and “GOON FOR ME” (plus “Edge,” “Stay With Me,” and the title track) are built for exactly that vibe.
Why Bate and Gooner Music Could Go Wide
Think about Madonna’s “Vogue.” She took an underground ballroom and voguing scene and turned it into a mainstream hit. We’re doing something similar with bate and gooner music — shining a light on a scene we’re actually part of, while making tracks you can dance to and bate to. It’s fun, rhythmic, and real.
The timing feels right. It’s easier than ever to make music. You don’t need a huge budget or major label anymore. With AI tools helping on production and visuals, all you really need is talent and a genuine story to tell. We’re seeing more artists releasing bate and gooner music because the barriers are low and the audience is hungry for it.
As bating and gooning gain recognition as valid lifestyle choices — mindful, creative, and shame-free — the music around them will grow too. More guys are talking openly about edging, presence, and using sexual energy in positive ways. That cultural shift creates space for real artistic expression. Plus, the music is versatile: great for solo sessions, group vibes, workouts, or just chilling. It’s masculine energy you can move to.
Other reasons it could blow up? Viral potential on platforms like X and TikTok (short clips and PMVs already spread fast), growing online communities, and the simple fact that men have always needed soundtracks for their private rituals. This is just the modern, unapologetic version.

We’re not experts on the existing bate/gooner scene. We actually don’t listen to a ton of other bate music on purpose — we want our sound to come straight from our own experiences instead of copying what’s already out there. That keeps it authentic. But the more artists in the space we listen to, the more we love it.
Whether or not it gets popular or goes wide, we love that this genre exists. We started with one honest song and ended up creating a whole world of unapologetic male energy through BATE FUEL. If you’re ready to feel that charge in your own life, go stream the album right now on Spotify. Turn it up, get comfortable, and let the music take you deep. Own your pleasure, connect with the brotherhood, and stay locked in. We’ll see you in the goon.
